Arising Tutoring is a community interest company which provides tuition for disadvantaged pupils
ages 5-18 to help with raising their academic attainment and to maximise their full potential.
Our tuition provision develops a passion for learning, equips pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to bring out the best in them. We are dedicated and committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of every young person who walks through our doors.
How Did Arising Tutoring Start?
Josiah Obeng and Nicole Brown
Arising Tutoring was birthed out of directors Nicole’s and Josiah’s overwhelming passion to make a difference in the lives of young people affected by social deprivation. As qualified teachers themselves, Nicole and Josiah recognised that there exists a real need for young people, particularly those from socially deprived backgrounds, to be able to access affordable tuition.
Having lived through the experience of social deprivation as a child, allowed Nicole to see first-hand just how difficult it was to get access to the right opportunities and being able to break free from the limitations which come with such circumstances. Recognising from very early that education creates and opens doors of opportunities, Nicole persevered and worked hard, but wished that if her mother could have afforded the extra help, things would have been so much easier for her.
Nicole recognised that one of the ways in which she could help other young people was through social change; giving them access to that educational opportunity which she herself longed to have as a child.

Our provision is a central hub of the community. We will contribute our skills and efforts to improve the local community through knowledge exchange.
We track pupil progress through baseline tests and assessments to ensure that our support is having a meaningful impact on their academic attainment levels.
